Alexander McDermott

Transfusing nature elements that hint on aspects of the speaker’s origin, Alexander’s poetry gets born from either experiences or strong feelings that are buried within the past. Current feelings with reflections allow Alexander to diversify his poetry that range from family experiences to extended metaphors on life and death as well as flirtatious sensory poems along witness to violence and resistance. His poetry has been published in the award winning online literary magazine, The Raven’s Perch along with Montgomery County Community College’s Art-Literature Magazine, Gestalt. Alexander is currently writing a memoir during his MFA in Creative Writing program at Rosemont College. Alongside his studies, he also teaches English Composition to undergraduate students within his Graduate Assistantship. Alexander holds a Bachelors in Liberal Arts from Peirce College and an Associates of Arts from Montgomery County Community College.
